Brown Lentils Curry


Ingredients

250 gms brown lentils (Akka Masoor)


Soak the lentils for an hour. wash well then boil with enough water till done


Ingredients

1 big onion finely chopped

2 tomatoes finely chopped

3 green chillies finely chopped

5 cloves garlic finely chopped

25 gms coconut powder. dissolved in 1 cup hot water

1 tbsp coriander powder

1 tsp pepper powder

1 tsp garam masala powder

finely chopped coriander leaves



Method


Heat up some oil and stir fry the finely chopped garlic and green chillies lightly ,then add the finely chopped onions and stir fry till lightly brown. Add in next finely chopped tomatoes , little salt and cook till tomatoes are cooked and soft. Add the coriander powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder. Stir fry . Add the cooked lentils and some amount of water.Allow to cook for 2 mins.

Lastly add salt if required, coconut milk and finely chopped coriander leaves.
