Ingredients
600 grams chicken pieces
Clean and wash chicken, add salt to taste and keep aside
Ingredients for the green masala
40 grams of coriander leaves
2 green chillies
2 teaspoons of dry Fenugreek leaves/ kasuri methi
1 big size onion sliced
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
Grind to paste with just enough water
Ingredients for the spice powder
2 teaspoon of coriander seeds
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon of pepper corn
1/2 teaspoon of fennel seeds
3 dry kashmiri Chillies
Dry roast the spices and chillies , cool and dry grind.
Ingredients
2 medium size onions finely chopped
150 grams tomatoes finely chopped
2 medium size potatoes chopped
Hot water
1 teaspoon of vinegar
Salt to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
Method
Step 1
Heat up some clarified butter, sauté the Onions until they turn lightly brown. Add the tomatoes and cook till soft.
Step 2
Add the dry ground masala and stir fry. Add the ground green paste ,salt to taste and stir fry. Add in 1 cup water, mix well and allow to cook for a minute on medium flame.
Step 3
Add the potatoes, cover and cook for a minute. Add the chicken pieces, mix well and cook for 2 minutes on low flame. Add in just enough hot water, salt to taste and cook till done.
Finally add the vinegar , salt if required and finely chopped coriander leaves. Cook for another 2 minutes.
