Chicken Xacuti {Recipe2}

Chicken xacuti is a Goan chicken curry consisting of a coconut base curry . The spices are dry roasted and ground to a fine paste. A very delicious Coconut base curry.

chicken curry in xacuti masala and stir fry cauliflower vegetable.


Ingredients 1

1st marinade

100 gms coriander leaves and 2 green chilli and 1/2tsp ginger garlic paste

Grind to a paste



Ingredients 2

500 gms chicken pieces

Marinade the chicken in the green paste with little salt and keep aside


Ingredients3

3 to 4 kashmiri chillies

2 tsp coriander seeds

1 /2 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 tsp pepper corns

1/4 tsp mustard seeds

1/4tsp fenugreek seeds {methi seeds}

1/2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)

1/4tsp sesame seeds

1 /2 inch cinnamon stick

2 cardamom

3 cloves

Roast all the above

Add 1/4tsp turmeric

And 1tsp ginger garlic paste to the above roasted spices .keep aside


Roast

8 to 9 tbsp desiccated coconut

Slice one big onion or 2 medium size onion

And stir fry till lightly brown

Little tamarind

Grind all the above of the 3rd ingredient to a fine paste



Ingredients

2 medium size onion finely chopped

1 tomato finely chopped



Method


Add oil and saute onions till brown add the tomatoes and stir fry till soft. Once the tomatoes are done add the add the marinated chicken pieces in green paste and stir fry. Add the ground paste (3rd ingredient) , mix well add some water and salt to taste. Allow to come to a boil . Once it comes to a boil put on low flame .and cook till chicken is done.



For the cauliflower vegetable

Stir fry the 6 mashed garlic cloves with few curry leaves .Add the chopped cauliflower( 500 gms) and cook on low flame. When almost done add freshly ground pepper according to taste and salt to taste. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 Tsp of garam masala powder.
