Crispy Chicken Steaks with Stir-Fry Veggies and Creamy Mashed Potatoes

 A hearty, delicious meal that's both satisfying and easy to prepare . Juicy, well-seasoned chicken steaks, coated in crispy breadcrumbs and shallow-fried to perfection, are served alongside vibrant stir-fried vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes.



Chicken Steaks (Fried Chicken)

Ingredients

750 grams of chicken breast (cut into steaks)

Preparing the Chicken Steaks

1. Using a sharp knife, slice the chicken breasts into steak-like pieces.

2. Place the slices between two sheets of parchment paper or cling film.

3. Using a rolling pin, steak pounder, or mallet, gently flatten the chicken to even thickness.

4. Remove the parchment paper and set the chicken aside.

For the Marinade

1 ½ teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

½ teaspoon turmeric powder

½ teaspoon garam masala powder

1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 teaspoons yellow mustard sauce

1 tablespoon honey

1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar

Method:

1. Mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl.

2. Coat the chicken steaks evenly with the marinade. Set aside to absorb the flavours.

Frying the Chicken Steaks

1. Coat the marinated chicken steaks with panko or regular breadcrumbs.

2. Heat oil in a pan and shallow-fry the steaks on medium heat until golden brown and crispy on both sides.

3. Remove and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Stir-Fry Vegetables

Ingredients

2 sweet corn cobs (kernels removed)

200 grams green peas

4 carrots (peeled and chopped into small pieces)

Salt to taste

Coarsely ground peppercorns

Oil for sautéing

Method

1. Heat some oil in a pan and add the chopped vegetables.

2. Sauté them for a few minutes, then add salt to taste.

3. Cook until the veggies are tender yet slightly crunchy.

4. Finish by adding freshly ground peppercorns and mix well.

Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

1 kg potatoes (boiled and peeled)

2 tablespoons butter

Grated cheese, cheese spread, or melted cheese (as per taste)

Salt (minimal or as required)

Coarsely ground peppercorns

Method

1. Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth and lump-free.

2. Add butter, cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well until creamy and well combined.

Serving Suggestions

Plate the crispy chicken steaks alongside a generous serving of stir-fried vegetables and creamy mashed potatoes. Serve hot and enjoy a delightful meal that is full of flavours and textures.

Creamy Cheese Sauce

This rich and flavorful sauce adds the perfect finishing touch to the crispy chicken steaks. A blend of creamy mayonnaise, spicy chili sauce, tangy ketchup, and melted cheese creates a smooth, velvety texture that enhances the dish with every bite.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 teaspoon chili sauce

1 teaspoon ketchup

Grated cheese or cheese spread (as per taste)

Method

1. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, chili sauce, and ketchup.

2. Add grated or melted cheese and mix well until smooth and creamy.

3. Serve alongside the chicken steaks or drizzle over them for an extra burst of flavour.
