This Lepo Fish Fry (Sole Fish Fry) is marinated with a homemade spice mix that brings out the best in the fish. The crispy coating adds the perfect crunch, making it a satisfying dish that pairs beautifully with a tangy tomato salad and spiced raw mango slices. Whether served as an appetizer or a side dish, this combination is sure to tantalize your taste buds!
Ingredients
Spice Mix for the Marinade
6 Dry Bedgi or Kashmiri Chillies
1 tablespoon Coriander Seeds
1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
1 teaspoon Peppercorns
¼ teaspoon Fennel Seeds
¼ teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
¼ teaspoon Mustard Seeds
Method
1. Dry roast the spices and chillies until aromatic.
2. Grind them into a fine powder and set aside.
3. To the ground spice mix, add:
½ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1 teaspoon Lime Juice
1 tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
Salt to taste
Just enough water to form a thick paste.
Preparing the Sole Fish
1. Coat the fish with the prepared spice mix and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
2. Coat the marinated fish with panko bread crumbs or semolina.
3. Shallow fry until golden and crispy.
Serve with :
Tomato Salad
A refreshing mix of:
Red and green tomatoes
One yellow pepper
Salt to taste
Coarsely ground pepper powder
Finely chopped coriander leaves
½ teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
Spiced Raw Mango Slices
Sprinkle pepper powder, chilli powder, salt, and a hint of powdered sugar over green raw mango slices for a perfect balance of spice and tang.
