I just love our East Indian Vindaloo , East Indian Vindaloo is traditionally called' Indiyal' . Since it is our family favourite, have to make different versions of it , from pork , chicken , beef to Mutton.
Here is a recipe of Mutton Vindaloo East Indian Style. Made with traditional ingredients of cumin, Kashmiri chillies ,pepper corn and garlic along with a few additional ingredients to this curry.
Mutton Vindaloo
Ingredients
500gms Mutton
Wash well, add a bit of turmeric powder,salt and vinegar keep for 15 mins and wash off well,pat dry

1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
Marinate for half hour

For the Vindaloo masala
4 kashmiri chillies
1 tsp pepper corn
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 medium size onion
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Grind the masala with some amount of water to a fine smooth paste

2 onions finely chopped
1 tomato ,dskin the Tomato and puree it
Method
Heat up some oil in a pressure Cooker, then add the finely chopped onions and stir fry till lightly brown. Then add the ground vindaloo masala ,cook for a minute stirring occasionally on medium flame.
Add now the Tomato puree and 1/2 cup water cook for 1/2 a minute.
Add the mutton pieces mix well at this stage add just enough water and pressure cook on high for 1 whistle then on low for 10 mins or till mutton is done. Once the steam is released
Open the cooker and add 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves and salt if required
Lastly cook for another 5 mins
