Green Moong Curry made with simple basic spices served with chapatis
Ingredients
150 gms green moong
Soak previous night ,then drain add fresh water and pressure cook for 1 whistle on high.
2 onions finely chopped
2 tomatoes finely chopped
2 green chillies finely chopped
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tsp lime juice
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Method
Once the oil is hot add the finely chopped onions and stir fry till lightly browned. Then add in the finely chopped tomatoes and finely chopped green chillies. Add some of the moong water and cook till tomatoes are soft and done.
Add next the chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Stir fry well, next add the ginger garlic paste and 1 cup water ,cook for a minute.
Next add the cooked green moong, water only if required.
Adjust the salt.
Cook for 5 mins on low flame. lastly add the finely chopped coriander leaves and line juice.
