Moong Dal/ Yellow Lentils Dosa / Chillas 2

Dosa /chillas prepared from yellow lentils served best with chutney.


Ingredients

2 cups yellow moong dal 1 cup rice Soak the above for 3 hrs.

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp pepper powder

1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves chopped fine

3 finely chopped green chillies or according to taste


Method

Grind the moon dal with 1 tsp of coriander, 1/2 tsp cumin powder and 1/2 tsp pepper powder to smooth batter with little water Grind the rice too Mix both together to make a batter of dosa consistency. Add salt according to taste.


Finely chopped coriander leaves and finely chopped green chillies (optional) Heat a dosa pan. Add the batter on to the pan. Sprinkle some finely chopped coriander leaves and green chillies. Allow to cook and crisp adding a bit of oil to the edges. Serve with coriander and mint coconut chutney.


For the chutney 50 gms desiccated coconut 3 green chillies Handful of coriander leaves And few mint leaves Salt and little sugar according to taste 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste And tsp of tamarind. Grind to a paste. Heat some oil and pour over the chutney.
