Mutton curry



Mutton curry with basic spices best served with some rotis or chapatis



Ingredients


3 dry kashmiri chillies


1tsp Cumin seeds


1tsp pepper corn


1tsp fennel seeds


1/4 sesame seeds


1/4 tsp poppy seeds


1/4 tsp methi / Fenugreek seeds


1/4 tsp turmeric powder


1/2 amchur powder / dry mango powder


1 onion sliced


2 tsp ginger garlic paste



Grind to paste with just enough water



Ingredients


3 green chillies finely chopped


2 onions finely chopped


3 potatoes chopped into cubes


2 tomatoes finely chopped


1 tbsp dry Fenugreek leaves ( dry kasuri methi leaves)



500 gms mutton ( clean and washed well. Add 1 tsp turmeric powder, salt and 1 tsp vinegar. Keep for half an hour . Wash off well and pat dry)



Method


Add oil in a pressure cooker, once hot saute the onions till lightly brown. Add the finely chopped tomatoes , half teaspoon of salt and green chillies finely chopped. Cook till tomatoes are soft and cooked. Add the ground masala . Cook the masala for a minute. Add the mutton pieces and just enough water. Add salt to taste and dry Fenugreek leaves. Pressure cook for 1 whistle on high and cook on a low whistle for 10 to 15 mins . Once the steam is released add the chopped potatoes add salt if required and cook on high for 2 whistles.
